I always love projects where the owner allows me the creative freedom to provide a home design without the constraints of having a particularly firm idea in mind of the specific outcome. Being one of these projects, this home was very satisfying to work on. The fact the client was a builder I have been dealing with for more than a decade just made it more-so.

This exciting project will soon be starting construction in Port Hedland in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. A corporate development to help an organisation provide accommodation for employees in a tight housing market, these homes were custom designed to suit the lifestyle, environment and local building methods of the region.

The wonderful 8 Star Skillion home I recently added to my projects page is a perfect example of the concept of ‘solar passive’ design. The owner was interested in creating a comfortable and efficient home so it has good insulation and orientation and even without double glazing (single glazed smart glass was used) we were able to achieve an excellent star rating of 7.8 - and that in a cooler inland climate area.

This is a recently completed project that was built by White Building Co in Bunbury WA. As a design exercise it was an interesting project and required some innovative solutions to meet some very specific site requirements.

Just this past week I had the pleasure of meeting some of my clients again and seeing the lovely canal home I designed for them. While I was there I naturally took some photos as the home is well worth showing on this website

The subject of my latest architecture photo shoot is a home I designed as the personal home for a long time builder client in Collie Western Australia.

This is a recently completed double story 3 unit development in Port Hedland. Two of the units are mirror images of each other and attached and the third stands alone addressing the side street.

This beautifully renovated heritage home is part of a major Wilson street redevelopment I worked on for Afonso Building Solutions (see my other post on the adjacent terrace homes).

This major terrace home development I designed for Afonso Building Solutions has attracted a lot of attention locally. Wilson street is in the historical heart of the lovely rural city of Albury so the council were extremely pleased to see the heritage theme of the proposed design. It is modern inner-city living with style to blend in with the local architecture.

Probably the most interesting project I have been involved with was completed recently in Melbourne.
